As COVID-19 has impacted each region of the country differently, Texas is reopening on varying schedules, with some cities already working to get back to pre-coronavirus levels of activity and commerce, while other cities are taking it slowly.

Since our last update, many of you have emailed or reached out to TYFA Board looking for definitive answers and guidance, but as stated in our previous email, there are still some obstacles to overcome. School Districts and City parks have not given any definitive dates when they will open their facilities to non-school entities and if they will have any restrictions to use in addition to the States Minimum Safety Standards.

We understand everyone is eager to get back to football and working with the kids, but please be patient as we will continue to gather information and chart the best possible course. As stated in the previous email, if you are an organization that uses a school district facility to practice and play you may want to reach out to them to see what their timelines or restrictions they may have. I would also recommend that each organization start looking into how they will conduct practices, team meetings etc... within your respective organization in order to keep players, coaches, volunteers and parents safe. We are all in this together and it will take a concerted effort from the league level as well as the organizational/team level.

We are not going to just jump back into things willy-nilly, we will have a well thought out plan that is conducive to us starting our season as regularly scheduled.  The TYFA Senior Executive Board and Football Executive Boards will be meeting this weekend to finalize our 2020 plan, discussing how these new safety measures will be implemented and how they might hinder organizations. as we get back to the business of football.

  • We will be holding a meeting in mid-June for all TYFA Members. Due to the fact that we want to take safety precautions and adhere to the  large gathering policy, this will be a Zoom meeting and will be limited to one person from each organization to attend, so please make sure that your computer or mobile device has a camera and it is enabled.  Date and time TBA.
  • Additionally, the balances for your 2020 League fees are due on or before by June 20, 2020. if you are uncertain about how much you owe please email the helpdesk.

We will continue to keep you abreast of any news on a weekly or as needed basis, so please check your email.

Good day to all of you and I pray for the continued safety of all our members, parents, athletes and their families. If you have any questions, please send an email to HELPDESK@TYFA.COM.
